Hispaniolan Hutia

It is a medium-sized arboreal rodent, measuring up to 50 cm. including tail. It is nocturnal and feeds on leaves of trees and shrubs, as well as fruits of the forest, being totally vegetarian. It is nocturnal and during the day it hides in rocky cavities and rotten trunks. More info…
