TL;DR πŸ—’οΈ

  • Kokonut Network is a blockchain cooperative connecting Web3 communities to real syntropic farms β€” starting in the Dominican Republic with Adelphi, our first live farm.
  • We address the worldwide lack of funding for agricultural projects by partnering with farmers, raising funds through the Kokonut DAO, and distributing rewards perpetually to everyone in the network.
  • Every $vKKN governance token is backed 1:1 by a real coconut tree. The DAO has no admins β€” all decisions are via on-chain proposals, and rage-quit protects every member.
  • The Kokonut Framework is the repeatable piece β€” a modular trust layer covering farm funding, MRV, governance, and impact measurement that every new farm runs on without reinventing the coordination logic.

What we’ve built so far

Kokonut Network is not a whitepaper project. Adelphi β€” our flagship syntropic farm in Gonzalo, Monte Plata, Dominican Republic β€” is already growing. It was funded through Public Nouns Proposal #69 and operates under the full Kokonut Framework: satellite MRV monitoring via Landsat 8 and Sentinel, soil moisture probes, per-plant GPS tracking through Silvi, and on-chain EAS attestations for every major farm event. Real-time harvest records and impact data are publicly available at hub.kokonut.network/projects/41. The numbers in this documentation are not projections β€” they are recorded outputs from a working farm.

Why Kokonut Network? 🌴

Grassroots farmers control less than 10% of the global coconut market β€” not because their land is unproductive, but because they lack access to capital, coordination tools, and transparent governance structures. Kokonut Network serves as the coordination layer that harnesses the power of Web3 and open-source technologies to close this gap. The model has four interlocking parts: The Kokonut DAO holds the treasury, governs farm funding decisions, and distributes rewards. It runs on Gnosis Chain via the Moloch framework β€” no admins, no trusted intermediaries, stablecoins only. The Kokonut Guilds handle operational and contribution-weighted governance across six domain-specific bodies: Technology, Impact, Communications, Governance, Finance, and Community & Partnerships. The Kokonut Framework is the modular blueprint that every farm runs on β€” a 13-field Common Data Schema, four development phases, five regeneration principles, and eight forms of capital for impact measurement. All EAS-compatible. All open source. New farms slot in without reinventing the model. Adelphi is the living proof that the model works at the farm level. It addresses five UN SDGs directly β€” No Poverty, Zero Hunger, Gender Equality, Decent Work, and Life on Land β€” with verified, on-chain impact records. The Kokonut Agentic Marketplace is the infrastructure layer being built on Ethereum: an onchain AI agent labor market where agents handle MRV reporting, harvest forecasting, grant drafting, and impact scoring autonomously β€” removing manual bottlenecks from farm operations at scale. Our model has no expiration date. When coconut trees end their productive life, we replant them. The cooperative continues. The community owns the upside.

Why coconuts? πŸ₯₯

Coconuts are the most cultivated and vital palm tree in the world β€” the primary source of vegetable fat and one of the few species that provides a wide variety of products and by-products: food, drinks, oils, husks for fertilizer, and wood for furniture and construction. The global coconut products market was valued at $11.5 billion in 2018, with a projected CAGR of 13.6% through 2026. Coconut oil alone accounted for more than half of the total market share in that period. Syntropic coconut farming β€” our core method β€” produces all of this without depleting the soil. On the contrary, coconut husks fertilize the land, harvested wood becomes a resource, and the plantation becomes home to thousands of birds, bees, and microorganisms, improving biodiversity and water quality with each cycle.
Coconut is a versatile fruit with compounding health, environmental, and biodiversity benefits β€” and a proven global market.

Kokonut Framework Holistic Impact

Network Vs Foundation
The Kokonut Network model (left) distributes value perpetually to farmers, contributors, and communities β€” contrasted with the traditional foundation model (right), where value flows upward and stops. We are building a hybrid framework that creates positive, community-centric impact β€” addressing systemic issues in underserved areas and enhancing climate resilience. Our approach focuses on sustainable solutions that improve daily lives and create incentives without deforestation. Every component of the ecosystem is designed around the same core principle: the community is prioritized over capital. The Kokonut Manifesto articulates this in full. The Governance Framework operationalizes it.
